A local healthcare services organization was struggling to manage their internal suite of reporting applications. Business units were utilizing various tools to track their work, generating multiple streams of data for the back office to manage. This constant stream of data from desparate sources led to inaccurate and inconsistent results and had become increasingly difficult to manage and report against. Data security had also become a pain-point as access to the data was unmanageable by existing security roles.


Clientek was asked to assist with an overall assessment of their current state to identify a more suitable approach. Our initial engagement focused on integrating their various data sources into a single data warehouse for reporting and visualizations. To accomplish this, we utilized Azure Data Factories and Azure Logic Apps to manage ETL. We also built various dashboards and reports in Power BI and integrated the portal with their current Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication methods. This gave them the ability to adopt role level security for access to the reporting data.


Our client now had a system that delivered accurate, reliable, and easier to manage reporting. The newly designed portal also made training, on-boarding, and general use significantly faster and more accessible. Future changes and updates to the system now required little-to-zero IT assistance to complete. Following this initial engagement, our teams have continued to work with the client and become experts on the system – integrating new data sources, generating additional reports/visualizations, and providing ongoing production support.
